Do you worry a lot?
There are occasional days when I worry about many things in my life. They range from school assignments and exams, to family stuff, to my plans after graduation, to random happenings going on around me. Sometimes these kinds of thoughts keep me up at night.
I recently read a piece of advice that I think is the BEST ever…
Picture the Grand Canyon as your life- your past, your present and your future.
Envision the various parts of your life within the canyon. Over there is the day you were born, your first-grade dance rehearsal, your job as a babysitter.
Picture your present: Over there’s your philosophy class, your friends, your mom, the book that you love to read.
Picture your future: There’s your house, the career that you love, your loved one, your future children, the finale of the Amazing Race.
Now, picture the enormous Grand Canyon and drop your worry into it. Whatever it is you’re worried about –the anatomy practical, your dating life or lack thereof, that part-time job position that you didn’t get –will barely be visible. They are merely tiny dots in a huge, immensely large canyon. Your problems will suddenly seem much, much smaller compared to the grand course of your long and rich life.
Is this not amazing? Try it next time. It really works!
